![]() | SummaryThis semester, I learned a lot about the manufacturing process. In doing the group project to make a toy for Toys for Tots, I have learned how to brainstorm, design, make a prototype, make the finished product, and package it. I did most of the Autocad designing, as it made the process easier if only one of us made drawings to prevent conflicting toy features. We split up the cost of the materials, so no one paid an unfair amount, and we split up the work of testing prototypes and cutting out the final guns with the Epoilog Helix laser cutter, which I also learned how to use this semester. In touring several companies, such as Wood Products and Cirrus Aircraft, I learned about how the skills I learned this semester could potentially be applied farther along in the future. Wood products was particularly similar, as they also cut forms from pieces of wood, then glued them together for the final product. |
